The items of the Gamescom crates in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are being sold for over $400. Who is buying such expensive digital school uniforms?
The opening of loot crates is already known from titles like Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, LoL, and other popular games. Now PUBG is also part of this game genre, at least for a short time. The proceeds from opening the crates will be added to the prize pool of the Gamescom tournament and support charitable organizations.
The rare cosmetic items from the crates are selling for hundreds of euros on Steam.

In the crates of PUBG, there are various outfits that you can put together. These are inspired, for example, by the Japanese Battle Royale movie. The Gamescom crates have now unlocked the first premium items in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and players are going crazy for them. The crates themselves can be purchased with in-game currency (BP). To open them, you need a key that costs $2.50. The official announcement for the Gamescom crates states that they will only be available until the end of the fair on August 27. After that, they will be removed from the game, and PUBG will get its free crate opening system back.
