The competitive scene of Overwatch is booming and the viewer numbers from the Overwatch League seem to confirm this.
This is definitely impressive: According to Blizzard, more than 10 million fans watched the matches during the first league week. The numbers are spread across Twitch, Major League Gaming, and several streaming services in China, such as NetEase CC, Panda TV, or ZhanQi TV.

On the first day, an average viewer count of 408,000 per minute was recorded, and over the week it was 280,000. Blizzard emphasized that devices on which multiple viewers followed the tournament were counted as only one in this case.
The company also announced that tickets for the Blizzard Arena in L.A. were completely sold out for the entire week.

But this is just the beginning: The Overwatch League will be broadcast until June, with the finals scheduled for July. So it will be interesting to see whether Overwatch can maintain or even surpass these numbers.
