Fans of games are eagerly waiting for the E3 2019 gaming fair. There are already interesting leaks, like this one about a Ubisoft game. It is supposed to be called Roller Champions and sounds like Ubisoft’s answer to Rocket League.
What does the leak say? As Gamerant reports, everything points to Ubisoft unveiling an entirely new IP – Roller Champions – during their press conference at E3 2019 in June.
The leak originally comes from Twitter user @New_WabiSabi. The user claims that they were shown professional images and artwork of the game. “If they are faked, ridiculous amounts of work and skill went into them.”
The corresponding tweet contains an image of the game’s logo. Additionally, it states that Roller Champions will be revealed this year. It is “very likely” that the reveal will happen during E3 2019.
What kind of game is Roller Champions? The information from the leak is still extremely sparse. “Skating and a sports ball are included,” it says. Sounds like players will skate around while handling a ball.
This strongly resembles Rocket League. In the popular sports game, you drive various cars through arenas, use rocket boosts, and try to score a huge ball into the opponent’s goal. So could Roller Champions be similar, but without cars and instead with players on skates?
Another Twitter user claims to know people who have already played the game. He says it is reminiscent of Rocket League but is still different. “Handball meets rollerblades.”
Other Twitter users write that the game reminds them of the game mode Lucio-Ball from Overwatch based on the description. The character also skates there. Blizzard designed a sort of soccer game together with the hero.
Furthermore, the Twitter account with the leak states that the game didn’t look graphically demanding. User New_WabiSabi suspects that it could even come to the Switch.
