Two of the biggest franchises are collaborating on a joint project. For some fans in the community, it’s clear: the merger will primarily cause a financial problem for them.
Who is teaming up with whom? It involves the two franchises LEGO and Pokémon. They have now announced a joint LEGO set. What exactly the fans will be able to build is still unknown, but in the trailer on the Pokémon channel, the tail of a Pikachu was already visible.
Previously, Pokémon had a partnership with MEGA, a U.S. subsidiary of Mattel and also a manufacturer of building blocks.
LEGO has already collaborated with the Horizon games to release a joint game:

Both franchises are known to have a large fan base that will clash when they merge. Additionally, the products from the franchises are often a costly pleasure.
Cheap LEGO sets start at 5 to 30 euros, while large sets range from 100 to 300 euros. Luxury and collector sets even cost between 300 and 800 euros.
Pokémon merchandise, just through the purchased licenses, also comes with a high price. If you look at the previous Pokémon building block sets from MEGA, they too fall within the same price range as LEGO.
Since it will be a Pokémon-LEGO set, the likelihood of a corresponding price adjustment is high. This is also a concern for some in the community:

When will the Pokémon set arrive? Fans will probably have to wait until 2026 to hold their own LEGO Pokémon in their hands. It remains to be seen whether the fans’ fears about the price will prove to be justified.
