Court documents have emerged showing that Twitch and Kick streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel is suing his ex-girlfriend Samantha “Adept” Lopez for $500,000. The lawsuit concerns 2 sports cars that he purchased but which Adept is said to have used.
What scandal is this about?
- In December 2021, it became known that the successful streamer xQc purchased a very expensive sports car, a McLaren 720 S Spider Coupe for about $327,692.09.
- However, xQc does not have a driver’s license, so he registered the car in his name and that of his then-girlfriend Adept, which caused quite a stir among his fans. In fact, this trust backfired when they broke up, and Adept allegedly kept the car. According to xQc, Adept used the McLaren to repeatedly engage him in conversations.
- It is alleged that Adept ultimately sold the car in February 2024. This has now been confirmed by the court filing: She sold the car on December 11, 2023. Allegedly, Adept received more than $200,000 for the McLaren.
The breakup was public and heated. From xQc’s perspective, he had separated from a girlfriend without any legal obligations. From Adept’s perspective, however, she saw herself as xQc’s wife according to a special law in Texas. She filed property claims.
xQc accuses Adept and sues her for 2 sports cars
The new court documents reveal: As it has now been reported by a fan account of xQc, xQc is allegedly suing Adept for $500,000.
He accuses Adept of:
- Selling the McLaren 720 S without involving xQc in the profits.
- Using another car, a 2022 BMW X6M for personal use, although the car belongs to xQc and he paid for it. He paid $148,654.33 for the BMW. The car is now worth about €110,000.
- Registering the BMW in 2024 and using xQc’s credit card for this without his consent. This reportedly cost about $1,500.
According to the court documents: Adept used the BMW as her everyday vehicle. However, they never asked xQc for his permission to use it, nor did they pay him for the use of the car.
Currently, there are no comments from either xQc or Adept regarding the court documents.
The relationship between xQc and Adept was apparently turbulent and put both under stress.
