The German Twitch streamer Trymacs had planned a big event for December titled “Kick auf Ice.” But now he has to change the event because Stefan Raab and his company are threatening him with a hefty fine. Trymacs expresses his disappointment towards his great role model.
Maximilian Stemmler, alias “Trymacs,” is one of the biggest German Twitch streamers. He regularly comes up with crazy ideas and is known for spending a lot of money.
- For the game FIFA alone, Trymacs has spent around 80,000 euros, as he explains himself.
- Another time, Trymacs and his community dismantled an online game and found the action quite hilarious.
Now, the Twitch streamer had announced a new event. With “Kick auf Ice,” a big event was supposed to take place at the end of December: well-known streamers and YouTubers were to compete against each other and play football on an ice surface. But it seems that this will not happen, as he explains quite disappointedly in a statement.
Stefan Raab has called for Trymacs to cease – streamer changes the event
What exactly happened? Stefan Raab, or rather his production company “Raab TV,” has called for Trymacs and his team to cease the event and threatens him with a fine of up to 500,000 euros.
According to various statements, it is also about protecting one’s own rights. For instance, GamesWirtschaft writes on Twitter: “In cases like these, it’s not about $$$ – but about protecting one’s own IPs and rights. One cannot just let it go unchallenged.”
In his statement, however, Trymacs expresses his heavy disappointment towards Stefan Raab and explains in his video that he has always been a big fan of the TV legend and that he has been a role model for him (in the video at minute 1:07). However, he is less than thrilled about the warning and cannot understand it at all. We have embedded the entire statement here for you:
What will we see now? An event will still take place, as they have already sold thousands of tickets for the “Lanxess Arena” and have also invited many well-known streamers such as MontanaBlack or Knossi.
For the new event, the ice will now simply be omitted; instead, they will play football as an indoor version. Instead of “Kick auf Ice,” the event is now called “The Big Kick.”
Why is Trymacs so upset? Just recently, Trymacs and Stefan Raab had “collaborated” at an event.
Because Trymacs had participated in this year’s Wok WM with other streamers. This was initiated by Stefan Raab in 2003 after he had offered it as a wager during “Wetten dass..?”:
