The Twitch streamer Tanzverbot has publicly confessed to his shopping addiction and financial problems, which have now led him into bankruptcy. He is now using TikTok to address his excessive spending in a video series.
How did the shopping addiction come about? In an emotional YouTube video from November 13, 2023, the streamer admitted that he had squandered all his wealth in the last 18 months.
Tanzverbot describes in the video how he tried to keep up with “wealthy circles,” which led to a full-blown shopping addiction. He spent hundreds of euros on branded clothing, even buying clothes one size smaller in the hope of losing weight, which did not happen.
These uncontrolled expenditures ultimately led him to reach his financial limits.

How is he dealing with this situation now? Despite his financial difficulties and public pressure, Tanzverbot has now started a video series on TikTok titled “How I Went Bankrupt”.
The first part of this series was published on February 12 and has already gained significant popularity, with over 820,000 views and more than 50,000 likes (as of February 13, 2:30 PM).
In this clip, Tanzverbot explains that he has been bankrupt for about two months, primarily due to his shopping addiction and impulsive spending.
Some time ago, he mentioned that his biggest dream was to have his own house. However, during a meeting with his tax advisor, he painfully realized that with the money he had squandered, he could have made a substantial down payment for his dream house.
He intends to use this series to showcase the, according to him, “meaningless and overpriced” items he acquired during his shopping addiction.
Perfume by Louis Vuitton, which he had imported
What is the first item of the new format? An example of his excessive spending is the first item Tanzverbot presents in his series, a perfume from the luxury brand Louis Vuitton called “Pur Oud”.
According to him, this perfume is exclusively available in England and not listed in Germany. Tanzverbot reports that he paid 1200 € for 100 ml, while it is even listed for 1500 € on the official website.
What is his opinion on this? Upon the arrival of the perfume, he tried it immediately, which voided the warranty. However, the expectations were disappointed, as he described the scent as “cow dung”.
He added that MontanaBlack simultaneously ordered this product, but he quickly canceled it after his report about the smell.
Tanzverbot said: “This is no joke. I was out with Monte at the time. We both ordered it, and after I told him how it tasted – uh, how it smelled. Yes, I just wanted to try it. After I told him how it smelled, he canceled it again. Shout-out to him. I was left alone with this fun.”
