The Twitch streamer Tanzverbot, known for his controversial statements to content creators, is making headlines again. However, this time not through disputes with colleagues, but through his shocking revelation in a YouTube video where he admits to being broke. He now talks about the consequences of his shopping addiction and how he sabotaged himself from fulfilling his biggest wish.
Who is Tanzverbot? Tanzverbot, who primarily operates in the “Just Chatting” category on Twitch, made big headlines in 2022 due to a physical altercation with streamers Orangemorange and Scurrows at gamescom.
However, the recent revelation about his financial downfall surprised many of his fans. In an emotional YouTube video from November 13, the 26-year-old admitted that he wasted all his money in the last 18 months.

Why is Tanzverbot broke? In the video, Tanzverbot describes how he tried to keep up with “wealthy circles.” This led to a true shopping addiction that drove him to buy branded clothing worth hundreds of euros up to five times a week.
An extreme example of this is T-shirts from the brand “Balenciaga” for 400 euros. He even bought the clothing one size smaller to express his hope of losing weight. But instead, he gained six kilograms.

What dream did the streamer have? Tanzverbot admits that his biggest dream was to have his own house. However, during a meeting with his tax advisor, he painfully realized that with the money he had wasted, he could have made a substantial down payment on his dream house. This moment deeply affected him emotionally. “I could have cried,” the streamer reports: “That completely broke me apart.”
What bothers him the most? In another stream, Tanzverbot also addressed his addiction issues. He appealed to his community to understand his aversion to gambling.
Although he is not addicted to gambling, he admits that he was addicted in other ways, which ultimately cost him his fortune. Even when he was still a shopaholic, he recognized, according to his own statements, what he was doing to himself and his future.
Tanzverbot reported that he had gone shopping several times with the well-known streamer MontanaBlack. MontanaBlack can attest that he didn’t even buy anything during their last meetings. The reason was not only the lack of money, but also the slow realization of the consequences of his shopping addiction.
What happens now? Despite the financial downturn, Tanzverbot is experiencing a remarkable upswing after his revelations. Within two weeks, he has increased his subscriber count from roughly 800 to almost 6000 (via Twitchtracker).
Generous donations, including one from “Live_Pilot” worth 502 euros, show the solidarity of his community. Overwhelmed, Tanzverbot commented on the generous donation with the words: “Dude, I’m about to have a heart attack here.”
Tanzverbot is now trying to learn from his mistakes and make a fresh start. His openness and the support of his community could help him get back on his financial feet.
