Even before the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, streamer VonGarcon is trying to sell some copies of the game. He is asking for a hefty $250 per copy.
This Friday, the latest installment of the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare, will be released. The digital preload is already live and it seems that some people already possess physical copies of the game and are actively selling copies of it.
One of these cases is VonGarcon. The American Twitch streamer shared a picture of various copies on Instagram and made an offer to his followers: $250 per copy.
Streamer supposedly shows gameplay – then deletes all images
This is what happened after the offer: After the streamer posted the offer online, many people wanted to see gameplay. However, VonGarcon refused, as this would be against Activision’s regulations.
According to IGN, the streamer briefly showed some gameplay on his Twitter account, but now nothing can be found of it.
VonGarcon then also wrote to his followers that he would not sell any more copies. All existing copies had already been sold to other players.
Were real copies being sold? Many people are currently speculating about this. The discs looked quite real, and it is not uncommon for some retail companies to receive physical versions before the release, so they can be on time for customers at launch.
This way, VonGarcon could have also obtained such copies. The only suspicious thing is that he has deleted numerous posts on the subject.
This is interesting about the prices: The demand for such copies is currently high. For instance, the streamer asked for $250 per copy. These seem to be enormous sums, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is already being released on Friday. So you are now paying multiple times the actual price just to be able to play a few days before the release.
