The Twitch streamer and YouTuber Petey Plastic is considering a lawsuit against Fortnite . A skin in the game looks exactly like him but doesn’t bear his name.
Who is it about? Petey Plastic is a rapper, streamer, and according to his Twitter bio “Gaymer” who advocates for LGBT rights. He currently has almost 19,000 followers on Twitch and 6,730 subscribers on YouTube.
He now suspects that his striking clothing style was used as a template for a skin in Fortnite. Fortnite does something similar with skins of prominent streamers like Ninja or Lachegga, but those skins in the game are named accordingly.
However, the skin that Petey Plastic refers to does not bear his name.

This is what Petey Plastic says: He addresses Epic Games on Twitter and YouTube. In the tweet he writes:
“Since I am an official Fortnite creator at @EpicGames, I’m honestly pretty salty that they made a character that looks extremely like me.
Almost like a copy right down to the bracelet… At least name the skin after me or something.”
He also posts the comparison image between himself and the mentioned skin in the tweet:

- “He [the skin] wears heart-shaped glasses, just like I always wear
- my fur coat, which I always wear. Also at events like TwitchCon
- the tattoos – even though they are not exactly the same tattoos, they are spread all over the arm
- and also the hair with the pink mohawk that I always wear, but can’t wear right now because the hairdressers are closed due to Covid”
He says that the skin was just released. However, he has been wearing that style for at least the last 5 years.
It particularly annoys him because other big content creators like Ninja have their own skins. And that’s official.
While he is not a very large streamer himself, he is on Epic Games’ radar. After all, you need to prove a certain number of followers to be accepted by Epic Games for a Fortnite creator status.
What happens next? In an interview with Dexerto , Petey Plastic reveals that he is currently speaking with his lawyer to sue Epic Games. While that would be the worst-case scenario, he hopes to find a solution with Epic Games and hopes that they will name the skin after him.
