Some Twitch streamers from WoW Classic like to reminisce about the past – until it catches up with them instantly and painfully. This is what the streamer LIRIK had to experience.
With the ongoing hype around World of Warcraft Classic, many streamers have started giving the 15-year-old game a chance. Some are completely new to it, while others are “repeat offenders” returning to Azeroth after years. One such streamer is the player LIRIK, who fondly reminisces – only to immediately regret it.
This is what happened: The streamer LIRIK was on the run in the Redridge Mountains with his Mage. The Mage had no mana left, so he sat down after a few meters to eat and drink. During this, the Twitch streamer explained:
You know, I would say for players in stealth, it’s extremely satisfying when they find a sitting character and can execute a strong ambush on them.
Hardly had he said these words, he already regretted them. Just a second later, a (much stronger) Druid appeared in stealth and took him out with two powerful attacks.
Oh, damned guy! That’s exactly what I was talking about. Do you see? Very satisfying.
Then he had to make his way to the corpse.

Sitting players are the ideal targets for assassins in WoW
Why is sitting so dangerous? In World of Warcraft, sitting is necessary to eat food or replenish mana through drinks.
What many players do not know is: When sitting, opponents effectively have a “opportunity attack.” This means that physical attacks against a sitting player will always deal a critical hit. This is an old mechanic that has been similarly borrowed from Pen & Paper times.
Such events are particularly devastating with strong “openers” like Ambush or Backstab from the Rogue.
