The first streamers are already playing the new EA FC 25. One of the most popular content creators for EA FC is having a great time with the new gameplay. Especially one aspect stands out positively to him.
What kind of streamer is he? Simon Schildgen, aka GamerBrother, is one of the most successful streamers for EA FC in Germany and worldwide. For over 10 years, he has been providing new content in the form of streams or videos about EA Sports’ football simulations every week.
As a partner of EA, he was allowed to test the new installment two days before the Early Access for FC 25. Initially, GamerBrother took the time to open the first packs and assemble a starter team along with a new tactic.

After that, he played his first matches in FC 25. In the Division Rivals, a mode in Ultimate Team, he was able to familiarize himself with the new gameplay mechanics against real opponents. And what he was able to see and test there pleased him a lot.
GamerBrother praises the defense, especially a new foul
After a few matches, the content creator summarized his initial impressions: “I haven’t had this much fun with the gameplay at release in years.”
What does GamerBrother like about the new gameplay? He is particularly taken with the defense. It feels “clean” to him. By that, he means that the defensive actions have a clear outcome and that there are not as many random events (unclean receptions, corrected passes) as in the previous installments.
As an example, he mentioned how well anticipation, that is, predicting the opponent’s moves, would work. For instance, if one positions oneself in the passing lane of the opponent, the success rate of winning the ball and retaining it in one’s possession is very high.
One of his live viewers also noticed this innovation. He wrote, “Defending is now more rewarding.” GamerBrother could only agree with this statement.
What GamerBrother particularly enjoyed about defending: The streamer developed a mischievous delight when he discovered the tactical foul, a new feature in FC 25.
If one uses the tactical foul against their opponent and hits them, it guarantees to take the opposing player down.
On one hand, one can effectively prevent dangerous attacks from the opponent. On the other hand, this foul is penalized with at least a yellow card and should be used sparingly if one doesn’t want to risk a second yellow card and thus a sending-off.
GamerBrother was not that cautious, though. In this clip, he shows how one should not necessarily apply the new tactical foul:
However, GamerBrother enjoyed it so much that shortly after, he had to play with a man down after committing two such tactical fouls with the same player. But that did not dampen his joy, as by that time he had already decided the game with a several-goal lead.
What else did GamerBrother notice about the gameplay? Throughout the stream, the content creator repeatedly mixed in his opinions about the innovations he perceived. These included:
- the playstyles introduced in FC 24 are very important again
- the dribbling feels different
- the AI defense acts very cleverly, making many right decisions
After the first hours of FC 25, GamerBrother could hardly wait to play the game again the next day.
