In a Twitch stream, the German streamer Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller played together with the Canadian streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel and was only partly able to understand him.
Papaplatte’s unique way of speaking: The Twitch streamer Papaplatte is known not only for his elaborate streams but also for his distinctive way of speaking. The 28-year-old often uses Anglicisms in his everyday language, which has led to some funny clips in the past.
In a Pro7 show, the two hosts Joko and Klaas hired a “translator” for the Twitch streamer’s appearance, so that all participants could understand each other. His way of expression has been shaped by other content creators in the past, as Papaplatte mentioned, just as he likely does with the youth today.

Who does Papaplatte meet? In a past Twitch stream, Papaplatte had something very special planned: He wanted to play Minecraft with the German Twitch streamer Mark “ohnePixel” Zimmermann and two other streamers. However, it was not to be a normal playthrough; instead, xQc would try to finish the game while the others chased him and tried to stop him.
In order to communicate during this, everyone spoke English with each other. Since everyone is proficient in English, it initially posed no problem. However, the pronunciation and especially the speed with which the streamer xQc speaks made communication difficult.

Papaplatte does not understand xQc: In one situation, xQc speaks very quickly again: “Oh no, guys, there’s a thunderstorm outside” (source: YouTube). In the original, xQc says “thunderstorm,” which ohnePixel understands as “tundra” and asks about it.
xQc repeats what was said, to which ohnePixel responds with “Shit,” and Papaplatte bursts into laughter. He jokingly says: “Brother, I have no idea what they just said.” (source: YouTube). The quickly spoken English is too much for Papaplatte, even for someone who loves Anglicisms, to understand.
