There is a dispute over the influencer Nickmercs at Call of Duty. YouTuber DrDisrespect has solidarized with him, but is now receiving a reality check from Twitch streamer Hasan HasanAbi
Piker.
This is the situation:
- The Twitch streamer Nickmercs received a skin bundle in Call of Duty Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 from Activision Blizzard on May 31.
- After a viral tweet from Nickmercs on June 7 regarding an LGBTQIA+ demo, this skin was removed from the Call of Duty store.
- DrDisrespect has shown solidarity with Nickmercs, deleted CoD and demanded an apology from Activision Blizzard to Nickmercs.
What was the statement? The Twitch streamer HasanAbi commented on this conflict with the sentence: DrDisrespect is more loyal to the fact that Nickmercs is getting his skin back than to his wife.
This refers to a situation from 2017, when DrDisrespect was still relatively new on Twitch and a successful streamer in PUBG. Suddenly, he took a longer break from streaming. He returned without a wig and sunglasses and confessed that hehad been unfaithful to his wife, regretted it, and wanted to make amends.
Since then, jokes and sayings about this incident have circulated repeatedly.
He would never say it to my face, because that would have consequences
How does DrDisrespect react? He seems affected by it. In a stream, he said everyone should take care of themselves and the people close to them.
He called HasanAbi a “fat con artist” who would never say it to his face because he would then “feel the consequences.”
He is dead to me
How does Nickmercs react? He reacts quite angrily. The streamer says he never had problems with HasanAbi, but after the comment, the “motherfucker is dead to him.”
It is particularly tasteless because DrDisrespect and his wife just had their 15th wedding anniversary.
Nickmercs does not want to apologize for the tweet; the incident ultimately showed who really stands by him and who has always disliked him.
How does HasanAbi react? He finds it all rather funny. He says:
- He and DrDisrespect’s wife both know what it’s like to be in the crosshairs of
Two-Times
in - He just made a comment that a million people before him have made
- At least he is not 42 years old and has to appear in cosplay every day
- The threat to beat him up for a joke was never meant seriously. Hasan suspects this could be a contractual requirement of Kick: “Speak badly about Hasan, and we’ll give you $30 million”
HasanAbi mocked DrDisrespect in a parody, saying he gets the hottest bitches
:
Viewers seem to see DrDisrespect’s own physical presence somewhat critically. Hasan Abi is 1.93 m tall, 10 years younger, and apparently fit. How does DrDisrespect even think he can intimidate him, a commentator asks.
Luckily, we will probably never find out how a physical duel between the two alpha males looks like, but now we know what it looks like when they duel verbally.
HasanAbi is considered politically left-leaning. He felt this when he once ordered a PC:
Twitch streamer orders $6,000 gaming PC – but it’s a really lefty number
