Jake “Jake Creates” is a content creator whose content revolves around robotics and technical gadgets. He recently gave his viewers on Twitch control of a robot arm equipped with a knife. It ended predictably chaotically.
What was that all about? Jake Creates claims to be an engineer who has become a content creator. On TikTok, he posts videos for his more than 66,000 followers, in which he transforms a toaster into a functioning controller or creates a robot flower pot that yells at him when the plant inside is not watered enough.
However, during a Twitch stream on July 15, Jake focused on a different project: He programmed a robot arm that could be controlled by his viewers. The content creator equipped the arm with a knife and placed a tempting red balloon on the table. It went as expected.
Twitch streamers are constantly coming up with new actions to entertain their viewers. Sometimes it backfires.
“It scared me more than I thought it would”
How did the experiment go? The viewers of Jake Creates were able to control the robot arm using various commands in the chat. They were able to influence the vertical and horizontal movement as well as the stretching and bending of the arm.
The streamer himself wisely kept out of reach of the knife-wielding robot arm. Eventually, the viewers managed to stab the defenseless balloon with the knife, causing it to burst with a loud bang.
Even though Jake was fully aware of this possibility, the loud noise seemed to catch him a bit off guard. At the decisive moment, a shrill scream can be heard off-screen, followed by a cough and a noticeably deeper “Ah.”

After recovering from the shock, Jake explains: “It scared me more than I ever thought possible.” The content creator quickly unplugged the robot arm from its power source before it could cause any further damage.
However, it seems that this project was just the beginning, as Jake hinted that viewers might someday take control of a NERF gun.
