Initially, the Twitch streamer Fanasia was definitely planned with her Paladin for the first raid of Sauercrowd in WoW Classic. However, shortly before the announcement of the roster, she made a fatal mistake in a dungeon.
What is the situation? Before the guild meeting that took place on the evening of February 15, 2026, Fanasia was in the dungeon Scholomance with four other Sauercrowd members. The group was already clearing the last chambers to prepare for the fight against the final boss.
During this cleanup operation, you encounter Rotten Corpses that cause surprisingly large explosion damage as soon as they pass away. To avoid any risk, you prefer to deal with them from a safe distance while slowing them down with Frost effects – for example, through traps or mages.

What happened to Fanasia? Paladins are also very effective against undead. The plate-wearers possess offensive Holy attacks and even an exclusive Fear spell. Fanasia plays such a Paladin and wanted to support her team in the fight against the undead hordes. However, she underestimated – like many others before her – the range of the explosion.
After several corpses were defeated in quick succession, Fanasia’s hardcore character took fatal damage in a matter of moments. The hardcore death of Fanasia is doubly bitter: Almost an hour later, the guild leaders HandOfBlood and Metashi announced the roster for the first raid in the Molten Core. When it came to the fourth place in group 7, Hänno stated (source: YouTube):
Due to the passing of Fanasia, we had to change the plan an hour before this show – and once again heartfelt condolences to Fanasia, this is truly ultra-bitter, and please don’t die until next Sunday, folks – we had to adjust on short notice.
How bitter it is shows the reaction of Fanasia, who struggled with tears after her hardcore mishap. Once she collected herself, she admitted that it was only her fault … she simply stood too close.
For Fanasia, Marc-Oliver aka BododerKillerkarpfen was brought into the roster, who made it to level 60 after his unfortunate demise, managing to bring another character to the maximum level in time.
