A Twitch streamer has made it his mission with a mod to give players of Red Dead Redemption feelings of guilt. However, the fact that the Twitch chat has contributed texts to this mod makes it all ludicrous.
What kind of mod is this? The Twitch streamer Blurs has created a very special modification for the game Red Dead Redemption 2, after receiving the idea from his community. When players kill an NPC, they are forced to watch a cutscene about this character.
The cutscene includes a series of melodramatic scenes intended to give the characters more background information and thus a certain depth. It is supposed to show “unique” memories of the character. Additionally, according to Twitch streamer Blurs on X, it is intended to cause “maximum guilt feelings”.
Community Makes Tragic Mod Funny
How does the community create chaos? Blurs programmed the mod independently and compiled the “B-roll footage” for each character himself. For the voice-over, however, he included his community via Twitch chat.
Some were allowed to provide the scripts, which are then automatically voiced using the text-to-speech function. The scripts do not really align with the rather dramatic nature of the material shown, but rather make most of it ludicrous.
Characters talk about the series Rick & Morty or that they want to become a pirate king by finding the One Piece. Blurs himself says in a Reddit post that it was a “mistake” to involve other people in writing the scripts for the voice-over.
In a YouTube video, Blurs shares a montage from his Twitch stream and writes: “This mod should never have been made.” You can watch the video, which also shows the creation of the mod, here:
Blurs has brought fun to the gaming community with this creative mod. A user writes on Reddit: “This is truly amazing. It’s as if you’ve invented a new gameplay mechanic.” Other comments also praise Blurs for his ingenuity.
The Twitch streamer Blurs is known for regularly taking funny mod suggestions from his community and trying to implement them. There are several other funny mods for Red Dead Redemption 2. For example, one that transforms the main character Arthur into a kind of superhero: RDR 2: Mod transforms Arthur into a flying “superhero” who throws police officers
