The Twitch streamer Carsten aka “ELoTRiX” (31) wants to leave Germany. He is drawn to the streamer paradise Madeira, but there are problems with the relevant authorities.
What is the streamer paradise? The island of Madeira is part of an autonomous region in Portugal and a popular emigration destination for German content creators. Famous streamers already live there. Many rave about the pleasant subtropical weather, and it is rumored that they benefit from a lower tax rate.
Because those who earn a lot as content creators also have to pay a lot in taxes. For this reason, MontanaBlack has already considered Malta.
The Twitch streamer Carsten “ELoTRiX” also seems to have fallen in love with Madeira. Just recently, he spoke about his emigration plans during a stream. However, the Portuguese authorities have temporarily thrown a wrench into his plans.
The German Twitch streamer Simon “Unge” Wiefels, now “Raik”, was one of the first to make Madeira a popular emigration destination for content creators:
Emigration must wait
What problems are there? In a stream on November 4, 2023, he gave an update on his plans. As ELoTRiX reports, he received a message from his contact in Madeira the night before. According to that, the authority responsible for validating ID cards has unexpectedly been dissolved.
Immigration is therefore not possible until the authority is re-established. The Twitch streamer had actually planned to fly to Madeira on November 5 to sign a rental contract and take care of the bureaucratic aspects.
ELoTRiX has already ordered a temporary streaming setup to the island. His home setup is supposed to remain intact for now until he moves out permanently. We have embedded the corresponding clip for you here:
What happens now? The Twitch streamer does not take the news too hard. He seems to find it amusing that an authority can just be dissolved like that.
According to ELoTRiX, the matter should be clarified within two weeks anyway. He has therefore postponed his trip. This is also advantageous because his new equipment would have arrived just a few days after his arrival, so he would not have been able to stream during that time.
According to the new schedule, streams on-site will continue without pause. Now it remains to be seen whether ELoTRiX can soon put his plans into action. However, it seems that the first stream in Madeira will still take a little while.
Besides his emigration plans, ELoTRiX is also occupied with the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. He became known with shooters like CoD on YouTube and therefore is eager to dive back into the fray. However, he wants to boycott MW3:
