2017 brought Fortnite the streaming platform Twitch into the mainstream and let careers grow from scratch. A group of streamers around Tyler “Ninja” Blevins rose particularly rapidly in the favor of viewers back then. Now Ninja, TimTheTatman, Nickmercs, CourageJD, and SypherPK are teaming up to create the next big battle royale in Fortnite. The release date for “Project V” is set for the second quarter of 2024.
This is the story behind it: Streamers played Fortnite from 2017 alone, in pairs, or in groups of four. When several streamers played together, they could talk to each other, poke fun at each other and reach each other’s viewers.
This acted like an “accelerator” for the careers of the then relatively small streamers, who managed to catch up with established names like DrDisrespect, Summit1g, or Lirik through this method or even surpass them.

The streamers say that since the “Unreal Editor” was released for Fortnite in March 2023, they wanted to do something together and create their own battle royale.
They want to closely collaborate with the community to create a new variant of battle royale within Fortnite with:
- Own weapons
- A full map
- Smooth movement mechanics
- Unique mechanics
They want to build something “really big”.
The game should mainly be based on player feedback. The game will be called “Project V”, with a launch planned for the second quarter of 2024. Project V should also be continuously supplied with content after the launch.
