The 18-year-old Fibi “Fibii” Pfeiffer is hardly to be missed on German Twitch. However, she originally had quite different career plans. In a podcast, she explains why she chose Twitch back then.
What kind of streamer is she? Fibi “Fibii” Pfeiffer climbed to become one of the biggest female streamers on German Twitch at just 16 years old. She is now 18 and a permanent part of the scene.
However, the streamer actually had very different plans for her life: In Tim Gabel’s podcast, she talks about why she gave up her dream job of becoming a federal police officer and chose a career on Twitch instead.
Alongside Fibii, LetsHugo is one of the younger stars of the German scene. He dropped out of school after the 9th grade to focus on streaming.
Fibii faced the choice: Streaming or school?
What was school like back then? Fibii started streaming during her school years, which proved to be not always easy. She recounts in the podcast several incidents where teachers made fun of her online presence and humiliated her in front of the class. Even in the emergency room, the streamer had to listen to criticism.
Despite these experiences, the 18-year-old explains that she wanted to continue her academic career after completing secondary school. She applied for a school place to obtain her higher education entrance qualification and pursue her plan to become a federal police officer.
In fact, she was accepted, which initially made her very happy, as Fibii states.
Why didn’t anything come of it? The turning point likely came during the vacation before starting at the new school. During this time, Fibii’s mother, who also acted as her manager, approached her and asked if she was sure this was the right path.
Her mother warned her that she likely wouldn’t have as much time to stream alongside school. She knew that she could only do one of the two things well, explains the 18-year-old.
Ultimately, Fibii and her mother decided together to focus on streaming: Things had simply been going too well to pass up this opportunity. The streamer admits that it was also simply about too much money.

By now, Fibii is extremely successful on Twitch, having just signed an exclusive contract with the platform this year. The streamer also says: She is still young, and she can always pursue vocational training at a later time.
Now, the 18-year-old considers it important to use the money she earns as an influencer wisely. People should feel that “the right one has the money,” says the streamer. It is important for her to help others and to advocate for animal welfare.
Despite her success, Fibii sometimes struggles with her career choice. Streaming isn’t really a proper job, and she would actually prefer to help other people. The streamer even stated: “Influencers haven’t accomplished anything in life”.
