To win in Fortnite: Battle Royale, you need to maintain the upper hand in some fights. This is particularly important when you are in a fierce positional battle. In such cases, every mistake can be the last!
Fights where both players are barricaded are often lengthy and complex, and can sometimes be decided by a single mistake.
So how do you get your opponent to make a fatal mistake?
The Trick with the Backdoor
Experienced Fortnite players usually respond to suddenly appearing opponents by building a small fortress. This fortress typically consists of four walls and a ramp. If both players are similarly barricaded, a lengthy positional battle usually follows.
With this simple trick, you can quickly outsmart your enemy and catch them cold. Here’s what to do:
- Shoot from cover at your opponent so they know you are there. Don’t waste too much ammunition; it’s just about them noticing you, and now observing you closely.
- Now go to the back wall of your fortress and build a door.
- Run back up to the fortress and jump visibly over the back wall to the outside.
- Your opponent will think you have left your cover and will either flee or initiate a flanking attack. Thus, they won’t be able to resist and will leave their cover as well to shoot you in the open field.
- But instead of running around in the open field, immediately go back through the cleverly hidden backdoor into your fortress, climb the ramp, and lo and behold, your opponent is now completely exposed and without cover in the vast field, and can be taken down like a rabbit!
