In Tree of Savior, the developers explain how item enhancement works.
Resource shortage due to time constraints
At (more or less) regular intervals, the developers of Tree of Savior take time to present some features of the game in more detail. This time it was the “Transcendence” system that was highlighted in a blog post.
But what is the Transcendence system actually?
Simply put, it allows players to further enhance their equipment (weapons, armor, and accessories) – it can be compared to “enchantments” in other games.
Each item can be enhanced up to 10 times; however, the probability that an item actually reaches the “next level” of Transcendence decreases with each enhancement. Worse yet: if an already enhanced item fails its next enhancement, it levels down and loses its current enhancement level! Therefore, one should always consider whether the risk is worth the benefit and whether it might be better to use more materials for the enchantment.
Speaking of materials: They can only be obtained from the “Salus Convent” mission or alternatively crafted. Since the quest can only be completed 2 times a day (“subscribers” up to 6 times), the corresponding resources will be limited.
