The new update in Pokémon GO brought a few other elements along with the level adjustment. However, some trainers are not exactly fans of it.
Which feature is it about? On October 15, Pokémon GO released the major update with the new level system. Along with these contents, the update also included a few visual changes.
One of these changes includes graphics that show your XP progress, which appear when you have hatched an egg, completed a raid, or finished a dynamax battle. So at points where you receive a decent amount of XP.
However, this change is not well received by all trainers. The new XP screen bothers some players.
Smiling and Lucky Egg button are not for some trainers
According to a post on the Pokémon GO subreddit, a few points play a role in why some trainers do not like the screen. Trainers criticize:
- The number of screens one has to dismiss.
- The positioning of the “Do you want to use a Lucky Egg?” button, which some users say could tempt them to accidentally use such an egg.
- And also the smile of their own trainer seems to upset some players. In this context, criticism of the avatar models arises again, which was already a topic upon their introduction in 2024. You can see how the smile looks here in the title image.
A few examples of voices from the thread:
- “Lmao, I have 159 million of 8 million, I never need to get experience points again, but I still have to see this animation every time,” criticizes user lujoter4 (on Reddit).
- “My character wears a mask, so I don’t see the smile. But this screen stresses me out because I constantly think that I might accidentally use a Lucky Egg if I click through this screen too quickly,” says user holonboy (on Reddit).
Similar voices are being raised in the comments. As of now, players do not seem very enthusiastic about the new screens.
What do you think about the topic? Do you find the new screens nice, or do you consider them unnecessary? And what do you think of the big level update overall? Let us know in the comments!
