In Pokémon Go, a player expresses their grief and apparently hopes that the Pokémon gods, meaning Niantic, will show mercy. This is because after a heated argument, his girlfriend deleted his 8-year-old account in Pokémon Go out of anger.
What led to the argument? The user Rhys2468 states on reddit:
- Between him and his girlfriend, there was a serious argument on the night from Sunday to Monday. To cool off, he left the house and went for a walk, leaving his phone at home. A grave mistake.
- In her anger, his girlfriend took the phone, deleted his account in Pokémon GO, and confirmed a support inquiry for the deletion code.
- When the trainer returned home from his walk, his girlfriend had calmed down and already regretted her decision. However, an attempt to restore the account went unanswered.
30 Hundos and 150 Shinies lost
What has he lost? The user writes that he has been playing Pokémon GO since 2016 and has collected 30 Hundos and over 150 Shinies.
Shinies are particularly rare Pokémon with an alternative coloration.
A Hundo is a particularly strong version of a Pokémon with an IV of 100%, a perfect rating. There are also “Shundos,” which are both Shiny and Hundo.
The trainer says he is very disappointed that he has not received a response to a support inquiry so far. After all, he has invested a lot of time and several hundred US dollars into Pokémon Go. Both are now simply gone.
He hopes that the reddit post receives enough attention so that someone at Niantic shows mercy and reinstates his account.
“Grind her to candy!”
How is this being commented on? The malicious responses are: He should put his friends in the “Candy Grinder” and grind them into candy or at least send them to the Professor.
Others judgably note that the girlfriend is apparently not a Shiny and has an unbalanced IV value. Surely he will find a better replacement quickly.
Cruelly, one response suggests: The girlfriend is very good at PVP; after all, she destroyed him.
Others give the advice to try a trade; maybe it will become a Lucky Trade.
Is there hope for him? Yes, but it might be difficult. One user says: Niantic can restore the account, but you have to be persistent and hope to find the right person to do it.
