Tower of Fantasy was released on Steam in December 2021, and since then, only three male characters have appeared in the limited-time character banner. After more than a year, there is finally new content.
Who is the new male character? The name of the new male character is likely to be Asurada. Not much is known about him yet. However, he is already visible in the new CN trailer for version 4.4 on the Chinese YouTube bilibili.com.
What can Asurada do? He already has three characteristics that are not common in Tower of Fantasy, as he seems to be one of the antagonists from the story and is also male. Additionally, it can be gathered from the credits of the trailer that Asurada is also likely to receive a “Haute Couture Skin.”
Female characters are also not neglected in Tower of Fantasy:
Asurada’s weapons seem to be three Japanese swords – also known as katanas. This makes his combat style very dynamic. From Asurada’s preview image, it can be inferred that he will likely be an offensive character of the “Fire/Physical” type in China. But as past events have shown, this may still change for the global version.

When will he appear? Since the Chinese version of Tower of Fantasy is always ahead of ours, Asurada will already appear there on 26.09.2024 with the 4.4 update. That means we have to wait an additional month for the latest male character. Unfortunately, there is no exact date yet.

When was the last male character added to Tower of Fantasy? Fans are absolutely justified in being astonished about Asurada because it has been a long time since the last male character was released. The last man in Tower of Fantasy was Ming Jing, and he arrived with the 3.1 update on the servers. That was in August 2023, so it’s already been over a year. This makes Asurada a significant highlight.
What can you expect in the current 4.3 update? We still have to wait a little longer for Asurada. For now, the 4.3 update will start on 19.09.2024 with the revamped version of the old character Meryl. Her new name is Meryl Ironheart. In the test server, she has already impressed with strong damage numbers. On Thursday, we will see if the developers plan to tweak anything.
