The new season 7 vs. Wild will be broadcast in autumn. Now the founding father of the series, Fritz Meinecke, has released a new video on the YouTube channel, revealing where the season is being filmed.
How was the filming location made known? The filming location of the new season was announced in an official YouTube video from the 7 vs. Wild channel. In the video, the founder of the series introduces the site and talks about the challenges the participants will face due to the new location.
It is said that the season will be significantly more challenging due to its filming location than previous seasons.
One of the seven participants is the streamer LetsHugo; you can learn more about his success here:
New Zealand in winter
Where does the new season take place? The fourth season of 7 vs. Wild takes place in New Zealand. Also, the timing of the filming is different this time. Instead of filming in August as always, this time they went to New Zealand in spring, according to German time, where the candidates are exposed to colder temperatures.
While the candidates started in the German spring, it was already the end of autumn upon their arrival in New Zealand. The seasons are shifted due to New Zealand’s geographical location.
What are the conditions on site? This time, the season does not take place on an island or by a lake, but in a mountain valley. The participants’ spots are located along the valley. The candidates will need to rely on a river as a freshwater source, which winds through the valley.
The new season will differ significantly from previous seasons due to the hills and mountains. According to Meinecke, the location where the participants are dropped off is 600 meters above sea level.
The landscape is a mix of open spaces, forest areas, but the candidates will also have to tackle some elevation. Meinecke himself speaks of the “hardest and coldest season regarding weather conditions that we have ever had.”
Who owns the land? The filming takes place on private property this time. Fritz Meinecke reports in the video that the participants this year are allowed to make fires, hunt, set traps, and fish. Thus, the participants can demonstrate their skills. Felling trees is also permitted.
There are reportedly many animals in the area that can be hunted, including:
- Birds
- Opossums
- Rabbits
- Wild boars
- Deer
Of course, there are also some edible as well as poisonous plants and various mushrooms.
What makes it so special? While seasons 2 and 3 of 7 vs. Wild took place in tropical areas, season 4 goes to the cold of New Zealand. Similar to season 1, the candidates are exposed to even more adversities. For example, heavy rain or even a snowstorm could spell disaster for the participants.
Also, the energy required to survive as a participant is much more, as the body tries to keep itself warm. The humidity, which the series founder claims is 80%-90%, will likely be exhausting.
The reasons for this appear to lie in the last seasons. Meinecke mentions in the video that the candidates in the last two seasons were even able to do nothing for a day because the weather allowed it. This is supposed to change in the new season.
Fritz Meinecke is reportedly not a participant in the fourth and probably hardest season of 7 vs. Wild in New Zealand. The official candidates were introduced by the founding father of the series in a video: 7 vs. Wild Season 4 without Fritz Meinecke – Here are the participants of the new season
