Rank 5 – The Repopulation
Science fiction is a scenario that is not so widespread in the MMORPG genre. But that’s exactly what makes the setting interesting. With The Repopulation, the studio Above and Beyond Technologies is working on a sandbox that also offers quests, which are not mandatory.
The MMO takes place on a distant planet where humanity wants to build a new home. However, factions emerge that are hostile to each other, and the environment is not particularly friendly to life. You are one of the settlers, exploring the world, possibly joining one of several factions, completing quests for them, or simply becoming a citizen of one of the cities and contributing to the community through crafting, for example. The Repopulation is said to be a mix of Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies. The game is currently in an alpha phase.
