Today is the last day of Destiny 2 on Battle.net. With the upcoming move to Steam, a Guardian has created a farewell video that pays tribute to the PC home of the Guardians. By the way, is your move already set?
So a fan says “Farewell” to Battle.net: For many PC Guardians, today marks an important, and for some, even an emotional event – the farewell to Battle.net. Because for almost two years, Blizzard’s gaming platform offered PC Guardians a home. Many friendships were formed, many triumphs celebrated.
The YouTuber TheXenomorph has therefore dedicated a simple yet emotional video to the previous home for PC Guardians, which lets many players reflect on their time there. Here you can watch it:
What is the move all about? At the beginning of 2019, Bungie and their former publisher Activision parted ways. Therefore, Destiny 2 on PC is moving to a new platform with the release of Shadowkeep – to Steam. Because until now, the PC version has been at home on Battle.net, the platform of Activision Blizzard.
What is special about today? Today, on September 30th, the servers for Destiny 2 will go offline – as part of a major maintenance before the release of Shadowkeep. For the last time on Battle.net. Because after the maintenance, Destiny 2 will come back online – but not on Blizzard’s platform anymore. From October 1st, the PC version will be available and playable exclusively on Steam.
Haven’t moved yet? Then you should hurry: The video serves as a tribute for some Guardians, but also as a reminder. Because if you play Destiny 2 on PC and have not yet linked your Steam and Battle.net accounts, then time is truly of the essence.
If you want to continue your Guardians’ journey on PC, you must complete the move to Steam today (on September 30).
