Information about the upcoming first-person shooter Titanfall 2.
As Electronic Arts recently announced, the release of Titanfall 2 is planned for late 2016. This was revealed in a presentation for the fiscal year 2017. In this presentation, EA lists the launch of Titanfall 2 for the third fiscal quarter, which runs from October to the end of December 2016.
Will Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 clash?
This release window comes as a bit of a surprise, as EA already has another hot title in the shooter genre during this period: Battlefield 1 is set to release on October 21, 2016.
Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, is taking this situation calmly. He downplays any possibility that the two games could get in each other’s way. He considers the FPS genre to be “a huge section in our industry”.
Some players would prefer a fast-paced experience in shooters, while others prefer a strategic approach. And then there are others who want both in different contexts. He is confident that they are well positioned this year with both upcoming shooters in the FPS genre.
Titanfall 2 is being developed by Respawn Entertainment for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The predecessor, “Titanfall,” was exclusively available for PC and Xbox. Here we introduced the first mini-teaser for Titanfall II.
