The next Titanfall 2-DLC brings a cool PvE Horde mode called “Frontier Defense” to the game. The update will be available next week!
Next week, a new free Titanfall 2 update will be released, the content of which has now been revealed. A special detail of the DLC is a cooperative PvE mode where you will fight against waves of enemies.
The update will be released on July 25 and brings the Frontier Defense mode and new maps for free to your platform.
Titanfall 2: Operation Frontier Shield
In a blog post, the developers explained that the “Frontier Defense” mode is on the way. At the launch of the new PvE mode, there will be five different maps available. With four players, you can engage in cooperative fun and also play with Titans. There are many similarities to the original “Frontier Defense” mode, which is playable in the first Titanfall.
You will fight against five waves of enemies that become increasingly stronger. If you defeat the waves, you earn money that you can spend on helpful items like batteries or sentries. In Frontier Defense, you can choose between the difficulty levels Easy, Normal, Hard, and Master. An even tougher difficulty “Insanity” will appear in the featured mode.
The new progression system “Aegis Ranks” allows you to unlock powerful Titan upgrades when you complete Frontier Defense games.
In the “Operation Frontier Shield” DLC you will also find two new maps. One is called Rise and is a revision of the map from original Titanfall. There, you will find steep walls and zip lines that allow pilots to move quickly across the map.
The second map is called Township and is for the “Live Fire” mode, in which pilots compete against each other.
New Cosmetic Items
In addition to the free content there are again purchasable items. New Elite Warpaints for weapons and Titans will be available for purchase. Each of the listed Elite Warpaints gives you a chance for a double XP boost for you alone at the end of a match. Until August 28, the content will be available together in a package, after which they can be purchased individually.
The Titan Warpaints provide you and your allies with an XP boost in Frontier Defense. These Warpaints are only available until August 28.

Titanfall 2 Free Weekend
From July 28 to July 30, you can introduce your friends to Titanfall 2 and draw them into the shooter. During this time, the game is free on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
