Even without spending money, you can have fun in Hearthstone. All you need is a single card that replaces all others.
If you want to play at the top in Hearthstone, you either have to invest a lot of time or a lot of money to create the best cards for the best decks. But if you’re a “casual” player who only checks in every few months, it can quickly become frustrating. Important cards are missing, great deck ideas cannot be tried out, and the humiliation of losing again and again increases. Eventually, the fun of the game diminishes.
However, I have now discovered for myself – and I believe many others may feel the same way – that for “fun in between,” you only need a single card, and it’s not even from the current expansion.
The card in question is Wurbelfitz the Wonderful, which we introduced some time ago.
What is Wurbelfitz the Wonderful? Wurbelfitz actually comes from the previous expansion “Dr. Boom’s Secret Lab.” When you add this minion to your deck, the deck is automatically complete. You do not need to own any other cards. The trick is that a deck with Wurbelfitz becomes one of 18 random decks at the start of each match! It covers all nine classes and two different play styles for each.
Update came with Rastakhan’s Rumble: I am most surprised that Blizzard even went as far as to update Wurbelfitz with “Rastakhan’s Rumble.” Wurbelfitz now incorporates current deck formulas and ensures that you can play cards from “Rastakhan’s Rumble” as well.
This has clearly shown that the card will still work in future expansions and makes the most current deck formulas playable until Wurbelfitz rotates out of the game. If you don’t want to spend hours dealing with deck lists or simply lack the creativity to build your own decks, Wurbelfitz is a safe bet.
Wurbelfitz is perfect for one or two games of Hearthstone when you’re sitting on the train or waiting for the next raid group in WoW. The card promises and guarantees variety.
No matter if Elemental Mage, Mech Warrior, or Frenzy Druid, with Wurbelfitz you always get solid decks that can hold their own at least up to rank 10. If you only play a few matches a month and don’t want to worry about real money purchases, you should give Wurbelfitz a chance. Although you never know exactly what else is in your own deck, that’s part of the appeal and isn’t necessary for “a few casual rounds.”
Wurbelfitz is certainly not a guarantee for a powerful deck or a certain victory – but sometimes the fun of the game and the combinations possible are worth much more. Getting it for a low price of 1600 Arcane Dust is unmatched. For me, Wurbelfitz will also remain a fixed part of my leisure time in 2019.
In summary, Wurbelfitz was definitely the best card I could ever craft. It ranks ahead of Yogg-Saron for me, whose “RNG fireworks” I found simply magnificent at the time. Therefore, my advice to anyone starting out with Hearthstone or wanting to check back in “casually”: craft yourself “Wurbelfitz the Wonderful.” Only with this card can you have a lot of fun without spending a single cent.
