In Fortnite, the old map from back then also introduces a whole new kind of cosmetic items that could end up on many players’ wishlists this year.
What items are we talking about? Fortnite is bringing back not only the beloved old map with the new update “Remix Chapter 2”, but also introduces a new feature. Instead of just offering skins for your outfits, weapons, and more, starting November 12, 2024, you can also buy shoes in Fortnite called “Kicks.”
The shoes can be combined with numerous skins and give them a visual upgrade. To obtain them, you must unlock them through the Battlepass or purchase them individually.

New Shoes, but in Fortnite
How does it work with the shoes? The so-called Kicks are set to be available as an upgrade for 500 skins right at launch. By spring, 95% of the skins are expected to follow. According to the developers’ statements (via fortnite.com), some skins are better suited than others to wear the Kicks, but the upgrade is designed to work on as many skins as possible.
However, the designs of the shoes are not only coming from Fortnite itself. At the launch of the new skins, there is a direct collaboration with Nike and Jordans, bringing real-life shoes into the game. The Jordans brand shoes will be available in the Remix Pass.
But there will also be skins that have been specifically designed for Fortnite. On their website (via fortnite.com), the developers showcase shark slippers that will only be available in the shop.
Are the shoes free? So far, no free shoes in Fortnite have been announced. However, the price for the shoes in the shop is also not yet known. Those who purchase the Battlepass and progress far enough will at least receive one pair of shoes there.
Especially since the shoes are likely not to be available for free at least initially, they may end up on many players’ Christmas wish lists. So if you spot a pair of Jordans or shark slippers with your younger siblings, you should ask whether it’s the Fortnite skin or a real pair of shoes.
