In Anthem winter is coming: a new event is on the way. You can test the next content as early as this weekend. The Ice Flood is coming, and you will receive new missions to complete in the snow-covered landscape.
What is happening this weekend? EA is opening the Public Test Server (PTS) and letting the first players play the Ice Flood, a new event coming to Anthem.
These test servers will be online only until November 11, and selected players will have access to
- two strongholds (Mines of Tyranny and Heart of Anger) – here you fight for crystals for unique winter rewards
- the free world – here there is a new event, the Freelancer time trial, local snowstorm encounters, and meetings with outlaws
- in addition, Fort Tarsis is decorated for Christmas
You will receive new tasks in the existing content. EA has already announced, that there will be new content for Anthem in the 4th quarter.
How to participate in the PTS of Ice Flood
These are the requirements: The test servers are only accessible to PC players and only in English. You must own a PC version of Anthem or be a subscriber to Origin Access. This is how you get access to the PTS.
You will then find a field with Anthem PTS in the game library on Origin. You can click on it to start the download. You just need to confirm the PTS conditions, and the fun can begin.
What is available on the PTS? It will provide insights into the snowy world of Anthem. You can play Ice Flood, the new event from Anthem. Even the jungles of the game world are covered with snow, and the focus is on extracting ice for the warmer seasons.
For the players, the following will be offered:
- The strongholds “Mines of Tyranny” and “Heart of Anger” are available
- In the strongholds, there are leaderboards, timers, multipliers for your points, and inversions
- There are crystals for special winter rewards
- In the game mode “Free Play”, there are encounters with outlaws and local snowstorm events
- A Freelancer time trial will be available, which you can restart every 5 minutes
Can the bonuses be transferred? Everything you earn on the PTS stays on the PTS. You cannot take any Javelins or other items from your account to the PTS. So, leveling up on these servers is not worthwhile, because you will not have anything from it in the future.
What does this PTS bring? BioWare wants to test whether everything works well before the release of new features. They did this before the release of the Cataclysm as well.
