Cross-Play is something that many fans of Borderlands 3 wish for. Clarity is expected soon.
Borderlands 3 is one of the games that gamers are most eagerly waiting for in 2019. There has been much discussion beforehand about whether cross-play will be offered.
Then players on Xbox One could play together with those on PlayStation 4. The game was even briefly advertised with cross-play in the Microsoft Store. However, the listing was quickly removed.
But is cross-play coming or not? In a few days, we should have certainty, as an announcement on Twitter is generating anticipation.
What was said? The official Twitter account of Borderlands 3 announced a small event, namely the “Celebration of Togetherness”. This loosely translates to “Celebration of Togetherness”. This fits wonderfully with the theme of cross-play for many fans. It would be a great opportunity to introduce the feature in more detail.
Randy Pitchford, the head of Gearbox, also mentioned this on Twitter:
We believe that what we have prepared will create a shared moment of cheer, joy, and wonder for you.
The fans’ hopes for cross-play have been rekindled.
When does the event take place? The “Celebration of Togetherness” will take place on Tuesday, July 16 at 7:00 PM Pacific Time. For us in Germany, this corresponds to 4:00 PM in the afternoon on July 16 – much more pleasant.
Whether the event ultimately has nothing to do with cross-play will be known in a few days. Until then, we have to be patient.
What else could it be? Other fans speculate that at the aforementioned time, there will only be a series of new trailers and reveals regarding in-game content. Unfortunately, the invitation is very vague and leaves much room for interpretation. But that was probably exactly what Gearbox wanted to achieve.
