Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has now introduced its level system in multiplayer. This shows that you are apparently supposed to stay motivated for a long time here and have a lot to do.
What kind of system is it? In a few days on October 25, the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released. In a blog post from Activision, the new progression system was presented. It allows you to rank up and unlock special rewards. The previously known prestige system is no longer in place.
What stands out: The game also wants to keep you motivated for a long time here. You will have to level up each season and get more tasks to stay active in Modern Warfare.
How the level system works
This was presented: In Modern Warfare, there will be Enlisted Ranks and Seasonal Officer Ranks. In addition, there are weapon ranks that give you attachments and skins for the respective weapon.
This is how the Enlisted Ranks work: There are exactly 55 levels that you can reach with the Enlisted Ranks. The maximum level is level 55. On the way to this level, you will unlock killstreaks or loadouts. So leveling up is worthwhile, as you start with very few options – for example, with the killstreaks.
This is how the Officer Ranks work: The Seasonal Officer Ranks go up to level 100. However, with each new season, the ranks reset to 0, and you have to start from the beginning. There you can unlock cosmetic rewards. Every time you rank up here, you also receive a special challenge that you can complete.
This is how weapon ranks work: Your weapons have their own ranks in Modern Warfare. If you have played a lot with a weapon and eliminated numerous opponents, you can rank up in these ranks. As a reward, there are various attachments or other useful items for your weapons.
How can you level up the ranks? There are various ways to do this. You can simply complete matches in multiplayer. You can also complete special challenges. These will give you a large amount of XP.
This is no longer available: Prestige ranks no longer exist in Modern Warfare. To show other players how much you’ve leveled up, you now have to rely on the Seasonal Officer Ranks. There, you can unlock ribbons that show your progress.
With 10 ribbons, you receive a special seasonal emblem, which evolves with every additional 10 ribbons. Once you have collected all 100, a special animated emblem will be unlocked, serving as proof of ultimate achievement during the corresponding season.
This is how Modern Warfare wants to motivate you: The level system in Modern Warfare shows you that you will have a lot to do. Especially the reset of the Seasonal Officer Ranks gives you a lot of tasks. Each season, you have to start from 0 and can unlock new rewards.
The progress system is not the first feature that calls for long-term motivation. Modern Warfare has also introduced a battle pass, which also needs to be leveled up.
A special incentive for many players is that all content that affects gameplay can be unlocked through play. You just have to play a lot to build strong weapons or builds.
Also interesting: Apparently, physical copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are already circulating. Some are trying to profit from this and sell them for $250. More about this can be found here:
