In a few days, major changes will be coming to World of Warcraft. We reveal what new rules for loot will apply in WoW starting Wednesday.
On July 10, 2019, it finally begins; the 3rd season of Battle for Azeroth will start. This means not only new action for all PvP fans, but also new dungeons and raids for PvE fans. The Eternal Palace and Mechagon will finally open.
Additionally, the rewards from many sources will be noticeably increased. Anyone who still shuns a heroic dungeon today may find really good items in it starting Wednesday.
Changes to dungeons: For most players, the loot from the regular dungeons will be worth it again. The standard rewards will be ramped up significantly, and the item level will increase drastically. Here are the new item levels for rewards:
- Normal Dungeons (at level 120): Item Level 370
- Heroic Dungeons: Item Level 385
- Mythic Dungeons: Item Level 400
The only exception is Mechagon. This “megadungeon” exists only on mythic. The bosses drop equipment with item level 415 by default!
Changes to “Mythic+” dungeons: In mythic dungeons, item levels for rewards will also change. Depending on the key level, there will be different rewards at the end of the dungeon.
This also affects, as before, the outcome of the “Mythic+” chest, which you can open on Wednesday if you completed a “Mythic+” dungeon the previous week.

Changes in PvP: In the player-versus-player area, items will also be significantly improved. With the start of season 3, the following item levels will be rewards for reaching the respective ranks.

New essences are available for the Heart of Azeroth: Also with the start of season 3, there are some new essences for the Heart of Azeroth that were previously unavailable. Some are available through “Mythic+” dungeons, others through rated PvP. Basically, the reward is always waiting in the chest at the end of the week. The better your rating or the more difficult the dungeon, the better versions of the essences you will unlock.
