The hack ‘n slash Path of Exile is one of the most popular genre representatives. But which classes do players prefer?
Grinding Gear Games, the developers of the popular hack ‘n slash Path of Exile, have published lists showing which classes are particularly popular among players.
What is special about the lists? There isn’t just one list stating that a specific class is played particularly often. Grinding Gear Games divides it into all levels of the Legion league as well as different levels. Because players of the action RPG choose different classes at various stages of the Legion league.
We do not present all lists here, as this would be beyond the scope, but instead focus on a few. You can see the remaining ones on the website of Grinding Gear Games.
These classes are popular
These are the most popular classes across all levels of the Legion league: The list shows which classes of Path of Exile are generally played frequently at the moment. The percentage indicates how many percent of all players embody which class. The list also demonstrates that there are generally many players who have not yet reached an “Ascendancy class”:

How reliable are these numbers? They come directly from the developers, and they should have an insight into the data. However, there is also the website poe.ninja, which collects statistics from Path of Exile, including player builds. The list only shows the high-level players and their builds, resulting in a slightly different picture. From this list, it emerges:

What else is there to know about the numbers? The numbers refer to the current league. Every league presents different challenges, which is why certain classes are better or worse suited. Therefore, the most popular classes change from league to league. The lists only show which builds are currently being used particularly frequently.
