Anthem has celebrated its first release in Early Access. Now the prices and microtransactions for the in-game shop are known. The costs of the premium currency “Shards” are also visible.
What is available to buy in Anthem? In the in-game shop, you can purchase cosmetic items for your Javelins with real money. This includes skins for customizing suits, alternative helmets or skins. The premium currency is called “Shards”.
Anthem does not have pay-to-win elements. It is not possible to buy anything in the shop that makes you stronger in the game. There will also be no loot boxes; everything can be purchased directly.
Earn cosmetics with coins: Anthem has a second currency, coins, which you can earn in-game. This can be done through challenges. Also, the alliances system helps you earn coins. You can unlock all cosmetic items with coins, meaning you do not have to invest shards to look good.

It is possible to buy the premium currency in bundles. With shards, you can unlock cosmetic items.

Discount with Origin Access Premier
If you subscribe to Origin Access Premier, you will receive a 10 percent discount on all Origin purchases. This means you will also get shards cheaper.
Costs of skins and other cosmetics
The shop is currently limited and will be expanded. At the moment there are
- 2 complete sets for Ranger and Colossus,
- 2 materials,
- 1 animation,
- 1 skin
Armor: These are basically the skins of Anthem. You can customize the arms, chest, and legs of a Javelin.
Costs: 61,000 coins or 850 shards – about 8.50 Euro
Skins and materials: Skins and materials are like a covering that is applied over the Javelin. They can have certain patterns, similar to tattoos, or simply change the visual material of the Javelin.
Costs: 12,000 coins or 300 shards – about 3.00 Euro
Emotes: It is possible to unlock gestures like “Chewing Gum on Shoe” for the Javelins. The emotes are also a way to communicate with other players.
Costs: 18,000 coins or 400 shards – about 4.00 Euro
How long does it take to unlock skins for free with coins? It is difficult to assess this at this time. We at Mein-MMO will monitor this and provide an assessment as soon as possible.
Are there still items outside of cosmetics in the cash shop? It is also possible to find crafting materials in the shop. In Anthem you can build your own weapons. Normally, weapons are obtained directly as loot. The building process is meant to help players create their desired items.
