A survey on Reddit has identified the most popular and best landing spots in Fortnite’s fast-paced Battle Royale mode. We show you where you can find peace – and where things get heated!
The Reddit user imkairu wanted to know exactly where players prefer to land and recently presented interesting results.
What are your best landing spots in Fortnite: Battle Royale?
A total of nearly 1,300 players participated in the survey – thus it is quite representative. However, there are some limitations in the data evaluation.
The landing spots were not divided by game mode. The choice of starting point can vary significantly between Solo and Team modes. Additionally, Reddit is usually populated by passionate and experienced players who know the map very well.
Last but not least, the survey creator divided the map into zones (as they also appear in the game). Some cities are covered by more than one zone (Pleasant Park), which would need to be added together.
Hotspot Retail Row – Dead silence south of Loot Lake
The red marked points on the map are the hot spots, particularly Retail Row. Nearly 10% of the people indicated they land here or in the adjacent Trailer Park.
The second spot seems somewhat surprising, as it is far from larger cities. What accounts for its great popularity?
In fact, the landing spot in the northeast of the map offers some houses with chests and good items. It is even on the secret winning route that we recently reported on.
But strategically, the landing spot is valuable as well. Depending on the location of the eye of the storm, various map points can be accessed from the landing spot:
- To the west is Anarchy Acres
- To the south is Tomato Town and
- to the east you can fight your way through Wailing Woods to Lonely Lodge
Besides the two hotspots, Salty Springs, Greasy Grove, and the southern part of the map with Fatal Fields and the prison are extremely popular.
If you count all four zones around Pleasant Park, the city is even more popular than Retail Row (>>10%).
Dead silence south of Loot Lake
Even though the results should be taken with caution, they do provide a good overview. This is evidenced by the low landing numbers south of Loot Lake. The other quiet spots also come with the drawback of dropping relatively little loot – resulting in poorer chances in a fight.
Epic is aware of the significant gap south of Loot Lake – there are already plans to place another city at this location – creating another potential hotspot!
