The Story of Yarrow
Yarrow is your contact person for the Freelancer faction. While you complete quests and increase your reputation with the faction, Yarrow shares some stories from his life with you.
He collects the names of fallen Freelancers and writes their life stories on the walls of the Fort so they won’t be forgotten. Unfortunately, he has never been able to find the link of his best friend Garnet.
Yarrow blames himself for Garnet’s death because he once showed mercy to an enemy who was down. Yarrow could not bring himself to kill his adversary and let him live. However, this adversary later returned and killed Garnet.
As you progress through Yarrow’s story, he will ask you who in the future will retrieve his link and write his story on the wall. Your Freelancer can then respond that they would be happy to take on that task.
The Injured Cryptic
At the beginning of the game, you and your team Haluk and Faye venture into the Heart of Rage. However, when this mission spectacularly fails, the friends become estranged. You continue to work as a Freelancer without Haluk and Faye and team up with Owen Corley, your new Cryptic, who will become a good friend over time.
Owen grew up in poor conditions. When he was eight years old, his parents made the best of his abilities and enrolled him at the Cryptic Academy Bronelyn Satomi in Helios.
During the campaign, you locate Faye and Haluk to return to the Heart of Rage together with them. Owen feels neglected as a result. How much this situation affects him, he lets you know through a letter he drunkenly sends you.
