What is it about? There is not “the one” light novel for One Piece that reveals more details about the story. Instead, there are many different stories that provide more information about individual characters or specific arcs. So far, Ace, Trafalgar Law, the Straw Hats, and some heroines from the anime have been in the spotlight.
Moreover, there is a novel for each film in Japan that retells the story of the film. Even the video game One Piece Odyssey has received its own light novel. However, in Germany, there are currently only the two novels about Ace and one about Trafalgar Law.
What makes the light novel so good? Our editorial team has only read the stories of Law and the heroines in English and Japanese so far. Especially the story with Law was very impressive as it shows the founding of the Heart Pirates and reveals where they actually got their submarine as a ship.
In Heroines, there are also many great stories that are heartwarming. They serve more as fan service and do not contribute much to the actual plot. However, they provide small details that further refine the characters.
