What is it about? Ai Hoshino is a well-known idol in Japan. Together with her band B-Komachi, she tours the country. The doctor Goro and the cancer patient Sarina are great fans of the singer. But as fate would have it, Ai is pregnant with twins and gives birth to the children right in the clinic where Sarina and Goro are.
Goro and Sarina die before the birth of the twins and are indeed reborn as Ai’s children. They grow up happily until a terrible accident changes the goals of Aqua and Ruby, the reborn children.
What makes the light novel so good? The light novel provides additional stories that have no place in the manga and anime. Volume 1, for example, tells a pre-story of how Ai Hoshino almost left B-Komachi and how the doctor Goro and the patient Sarina became friends.
It is particularly impressive to see the decline of Goro after Sarina’s death. The light novel provides multiple details and reveals more aspects for hardcore fans. It also maintains the dark tone that is present in the anime and manga. Volume 2, on the other hand, focuses on the rivalry between Kana and Akane.
