Iscalar
What kind of Pokémon is this? Iscalar is a Pokémon that has been around since Pokémon X and Y. In the anime, it even appears as a Pokémon of Team Rocket, belonging to James. It looks like a small octopus and belongs to the Dark and Psychic types. Its evolution is Calamanero, and it’s no coincidence that it looks like Iscalar, just turned upside down.
How do you evolve it? To evolve Iscalar, you actually have to turn the console upside down as soon as it levels up at level 30. But don’t worry, you don’t have to flip the Wii or any other bulky console. The game has so far been released for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch. These consoles are therefore suitable for being turned upside down.
Pamamo, Relluk, and Weherba
What kind of Pokémon are these? All these Pokémon were only introduced with Scarlet and Violet into the franchise. None of the Pokémon share the same type, and they have different numbers of evolutions. Nevertheless, they share a commonality in their evolution.
How do you evolve them? All 3 Pokémon evolve when you have walked 1,000 steps in the “Send out Pokémon” mode. This function allows the Pokémon to leave the Pokéball. It then accompanies the player step by step. After the 1,000th step, it finally evolves.
But you have to watch out: As soon as you call the Pokémon back, the steps are reset to 0. Those who do not know this could walk for an eternity without evolving a Pokémon.
Nincada
What kind of Pokémon is this? Nincada has been around since Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. The Bug-Ground Pokémon is modeled after a cicada larva. It undergoes a molting process during its evolution just like a real cicada. A real cicada leaves behind its old skin, which looks like a petrified cicada. And if you make the right preparations, you’ll get such a “skin” into your team.
How do you evolve it? If you leave a spot in your team open and have a spare Pokéball ready, you will not only get Ninjask as a new evolutionary form but also Ninjatom. It looks like the dead cicada skin and even has a halo above it. Its wings are supposed to represent the split cocoon.

Especially crazy: Ninjatom only has 1 HP. However, thanks to its ability Wonder Guard, it can only be hit by moves that are very effective against it. This includes a total of 5 types. This makes it a unique Pokémon that lives up to its status as a lifeless shell.
