The nearly 90-year-old YouTuber Shirley Curry is known for her videos on the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. She is now quitting because she no longer enjoys making videos on YouTube and wishes for a different interaction with her community.

In between, she also explored a bit in the remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but then switched back to Skyrim.
In her Skyrim videos, she told gameplay stories in the world. For this, she always created different characters. Additionally, she frequently uploaded vlogs where she talked about her hobbies outside of gaming and provided updates about her life.
Now she announced in a new vlog on YouTube that she no longer wants to upload videos about Skyrim in the future. However, she is not ending her career as a YouTuber.

Why does Shirley Curry want to stop making videos about Skyrim? Shirley Curry has two reasons for her retirement from Skyrim. On one hand, she does not really enjoy making the videos anymore, and on the other hand, she can hardly connect with the young viewers in her community.
I will soon be 90 years old. Whenever I have a new idea of how I could play a story in Skyrim (…) I might do one, two, or three with a new character, and then I get bored again. Therefore, I will simply stop uploading anything related to Skyrim.

Very young viewers would only leave short messages like “Hi, Grandma,” but not want any further interaction or give feedback. She says about it: “That wasn’t the reason I spent my time creating and uploading videos.” (Source: YouTube from minute 00:50).
What does Shirley Curry plan? In the future, Shirley Curry wants to stay in touch with her slightly older viewers, such as teenagers or adults. She will continue to upload vlogs about her life, where discussions can take place. Additionally, she wants to stay in touch with some viewers via email.
