In our “Shame Ranking,” 4Story: The Original has taken a dishonorable first place as the worst new MMORPG of 2025. Now, it may have to pay the price for that.
What’s up with the game? On September 18, 2025, the developers announced on facebook.com that there are issues with the product page and payment options for 4Story: The Original on Steam in several countries.
They are working on a quick solution and plan to release the update scheduled for September 24 as intended, the developers added.
Now it’s September 26, 2025, and on Steam, it still says: “This product is currently not available in your country.” There has been no further update from the developers regarding this. At least: Those who have already added 4Story: The Original to their library should still have access to the MMORPG (Source: mmorpg.org.pl).

A sham that isn’t worth a dime
What do I need to know about 4Story: The Original? The original 4Story from 2008 built a loyal fan base with its Free2Play model, the faction conflict featured in various PvP content, its mission maps, and the PvEvP battles against dragons, which saw the game voted 7th place among the best MMORPGs of all time last year.
4Story: The Original promises a modernized and improved version of the classic 17 years later but quickly reveals itself to be a cheap attempt to squeeze a bit more money from the brand with minimal effort.
Only 35 percent of the previous reviews are positive (Source: steamdb.info). Even before the current problems, there weren’t even 300 Steam users online simultaneously during prime time. Many genre fans who gave it a try complain about the aggressive shop, Pay2Win mechanics, the high number of bugs, lack of anti-cheat, and poor customer support.
With this, 4Story: The Original has earned the worst place in our interim ranking for the current MMORPG year.
