What is The Witcher? This is the series adaptation of the popular Witcher novels and short stories by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, who, however, had little say in the matter. It tells of the adventures of the witcher Geralt of Rivia, but also those of his adopted daughter Ciri and other important characters such as the sorceresses Yennefer of Vengerberg and Triss Merigold – characters gamers also know from the games of CD Projekt Red.
The series has been produced by Netflix since season 1, where it is also available to watch. While the first season was primarily based on short stories from Sapkowski, the sequels were already devoted to the larger novels – so also season 4.

When is the release date for The Witcher Season 4? The wait will end on October 30, 2025. Then eight new episodes will be released, all of which will be available on Netflix at the same time. As in the previous seasons, the new episodes will each last between 45 and 70 minutes.
Who is streaming The Witcher Season 4? Just like the previous three seasons, the fourth will also be exclusively available on Netflix. This is primarily because the streaming service produces the series. Therefore, it will not be available on other services like Amazon Prime or Sky.
What is The Witcher Season 4 about? The new episodes will highlight the adventures of Geralt within the third novel called “Blood of Elves.”
Geralt is once again in search of Ciri, who now becomes part of the criminal ” Rats gang.” In the process, he encounters old and new faces while a war rages in the background. Yennefer is also on the hunt for the wizard Vilgefortz to bring him down.
Since the series ends with season 5, it is assumed that parts of the volumes “The Swallow Tower,” and perhaps even storylines from the final novel “Lady of the Lake” are included in season 4.
Cast: Who is in The Witcher Season 4? The big controversy surrounding the new season concerns none other than the lead actor. Unlike before, Henry Cavill is no longer seen as Geralt of Rivia. He is replaced by Liam Hemsworth, whose casting has already divided fans. Otherwise, fans can look forward to the return of familiar faces, but new names are also included. What happens after season 4? It was already confirmed in 2024 that The Witcher will receive a fifth season. This will also be the last one – Netflix is drawing a clear line. However, when exactly the finale will be released is still unclear. It is unlikely to be before autumn 2026.
