At the gamescom 2021, the trailer for a new superhero game from Marvel was shown: Midnight Suns from developer Firaxis and publisher 2K. This will apparently be quite different from Marvel’s Avengers, which was released in 2020, namely a tactical RPG in which you can create your own superhero.
What kind of game is this? Midnight Suns will be a tactical RPG. The first trailer only shows the story and not the gameplay. In it, a hero is resurrected, of which we already know the name “The Hunter”.
The Hunter is a new superhero created by developer Firaxis together with Marvel. It sounds like you can decide for yourself what kind of superhero you will become through items and abilities.
Alongside the new hero, there are also a number of well-known names from the Marvel franchises. You will fight alongside famous X-Men, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, and more against Lilith, the Mother of Demons.
What does the gameplay look like? So far, no gameplay can be seen in the trailer. However, much can be inferred from the genre, as it also includes well-known titles like Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Divinity, and Baldur’s Gate.
In these games, you were always able to create a hero (like the Hunter in Midnight Suns) and recruit companions who accompany you on your journey. As Creative Director Jake Solomon reveals, items will also play a major role.
The studio, Firaxis, is known for the XCOM games, turn-based strategy games. This also suggests tactical gameplay similar to that in Divinity. Just like in the aforementioned games, you will be able to build relationships with companions, which will be just as important as abilities and items.

Midnight Suns: Release in March 2022
When and where will Midnight Suns be released? The release window is set for March 2022. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic).
