The fight against Lilith is considered the hardest in Diablo 4, as her attacks are brutal and can take you down with one hit. Players are now reporting that the boss eventually stops losing health – apparently because she takes too much damage.
What is the fight against Lilith about? Throughout the campaign, you will face Lilith personally in Diablo 4. Shortly after the start of Season 9 in Diablo 4, players are reporting again that Lilith stops losing health points during the boss fight at a certain point, even though the players are actually dealing enough damage. But apparently that is the point: They are dealing too much damage.
Lilith becomes an invincible opponent
What is going wrong in the boss fight? In a post on Reddit, the user shows how he fights against the Echo of Lilith. He deals a lot of damage, causing her to fly up quickly and leave the arena. After she lands and performs a few attacks, he continues to attack the boss consistently.
High damage numbers are visible hitting Lilith – but she no longer loses health points. You can see this in his video:
In his post, he asks: “Is Lilith bugged for anyone else?” He then explains: “I have tried it with different characters, at different torment levels, solo and in multiplayer. Each time I bring her down to just under 50%, but after that her health points do not drop a millimeter more, no matter how long I continue to attack.”
Players say: The error is inconsistent
What triggers the error? Many users note that this is apparently not a consistent bug. This means: It can occur in groups, but also solo. At the same time, many players have fought against Lilith at various torment levels – sometimes the problem occurs, sometimes it does not.
In the comments, heartbroken_nerd advises to increase the torment level, as the player deals too much damage and this triggers the bug. And IgotnoClue69 says: “I also encounter the bug more often when more than 2 players are in the fight. Then just reset the dungeon.”
In another post on Reddit, Exciting-Spring-1986 writes on June 16 that he had several runs against Lilith where she suddenly became permanently immune at 33% health. When everything goes normally, he completes the fight at torment 4 in a few minutes.
Many other players also seem to be familiar with the problem there. Ganshea comments: “The fight has been bugged since the last patch in full groups. You can go in with 3 people, then add the fourth during phase 2. With 4 players from the start, you cannot get out of phase 1 – Lilith then does not come down and does not summon adds.”
Some players report that it helps to raise the difficulty, play a bit “slower”, or simply restart the game so that the boss fight does not run into a void again.
The boss fights in Diablo 4 always spark discussions in the community. Especially the battle against Lilith is frustrating for many even without bugs: It generally feels not rewarding and resembles an “action RPG without action”.
But other bosses also raise the players’ pulse: Since Season 8, enemies can no longer be “oneshot”, and on top of that, there are phases where they are completely immune. But: A statement from the community lead brings cautious optimism.
