In ARK: Survival Ascended, you will soon swing through a new map like Spider-Man by carrying a cute spider on your forearm.
On September 4, ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA) will get the DLC map Aberration. The map was originally released in ARK: Survival Evolved in 2017 and brought some new features to the game, including new creatures and devices. The great peculiarity of Aberration is that the map is entirely set underground, allowing you to venture deeper into the earth.
However, life underground also means that you cannot utilize the variety of different flying animals such as an Argentavis or a Wyvern on the map. Instead, there are creatures like the Rock Drake, which can climb and glide exceptionally well. Additionally, Aberration introduced new shoulder pets at that time, which sit on your shoulder and can serve as a light source.
With the release of Aberration in ARK: Survival Ascended, the game will receive another shoulder pet that will make movement underground easier for you.
There’s a spider sitting on your forearm
What kind of spider is that? With the ASA release, owners of the “Bob’s Tall Tales” bundle can meet Cosmo. This is a small cute spider with bulging eyes that can be used as a shoulder pet.
Not much is known about Cosmo yet. However, in a picture shared by the developers, it can be seen that the spider helps you to move underground. It sits on your forearm, clinging to it with its eight hairy legs, looking at you with its huge bulging eyes while shooting spider webs.
The picture also shows that you can use these threads to swing through the underground like Spider-Man, hopefully escaping the clutches of a Reaper.
In addition to the spider Cosmo and the Aberration map, ARK: Survival Ascended will get a new dino, the Yi Ling. This is a type of raptor that is very agile and can climb walls.
The developers are thus still working on new or enhanced old content for the survival game. They are supported by a strong mod community that also provides the game with new maps, creatures, structures, and more.
