In Helldivers 2 there is a new strongest enemy since the new expansion, and the veterans want it to remain that strong.
What kind of enemy is it? In Helldivers 2, players have been allowed to fight the Terminids on their home worlds since the last expansion. These terraformed planets are different from the previous worlds inhabited by humans and bring new and improved enemies with them.
The latest enemy in the game is the Hivelord, who confronts the Helldivers as a final boss on the bug planet. He behaves like one of the terrifying sandworms from Dune: Awakening that dominate Arrakis.
He breaks through the earth’s surface and effortlessly destroys Helldivers and equipment. Especially in the new missions where the squad of soldiers is supposed to defend a mobile drilling unit, the Hivelord often ensures these missions fail mercilessly. However, the veterans now explain why the enemy is still so good.

Almost Invincible is Perfect
Why are players celebrating the new Hivelord? Players of Helldivers 2 are thrilled to finally have an enemy in the Hivelord that they can hardly defeat. While there have always been difficult and strong opponents in Helldivers 2, the new Hivelord raises the bar.
Simply the fact that he spends a lot of time underground and can therefore rarely be attacked at all makes the Hivelord strong. The fight against him becomes even more challenging because the pest is heavily armored and can take a lot of damage. According to Helldivers.wiki.gg, the enemy has 150,000 HP; for comparison, a Charger has 2,400 HP.
Even the best players have a hard time facing him, posing a genuine challenge that has been missing from the game lately. The new enemies of the other factions were indeed difficult to defeat, but often lacked fun in combat. With the Hivelord, the developers seem to have found the right balance between “almost invincible” and “fun in combat”.
This is what players are saying: On Reddit, players are now wishing that the powerful enemies will not be nerfed, even though they can hardly be defeated. Instead, they hope that a new weapon will be developed specifically against them in the lore of Helldivers 2, and that squads will then be sent on missions to use this new weapon to eliminate the Hivelords.

The fact that the Hivelords obstruct the missions with the mobile drilling unit frustrates players more than confronting the great new enemy. Whether the developers will intervene here remains to be seen.
